The principle of action of aluminum sulfate flocculant
The working principle of aluminum sulfate flocculant mainly includes two aspects: electroneutralization and bridging.
1. Electroneutralization effect: When aluminum sulfate dissolves in water, it forms cation Al3+and anion SO42-. Cationic Al3+can neutralize negatively charged suspended particles in water, causing them to lose stability and aggregate into flocculent particles.
2. Bridging effect: The complex formed by cationic Al3+and anionic SO42- can serve as a bridging agent, connecting negatively charged suspended particles, further increasing the volume and density of the flocs, making them easy to settle.
